A Teddy Bear is the ultimate symbol of childhood and love.

Creating a teddy bear nursery theme in your baby's room is a wonderful way to keep the room happy and adorable always.

Although these bears are found in every possible place and theme, the original brown bear is still the cutest and the most common gift to show your love. And the love for bears is not restricted to nurseries. Check out this gorgeous bear themed teen room we put together.

Of course there is more variety today than ever before. If you have been researching about a bear nursery theme, you might have come across some adorable polar bear decor and koala bear art as well.

And you could spin the theme in those directions. But I still think the original teddy bear is way too cute to ignore.

Without further ado, let's get on with these yummy rooms I have dished up for you.

Vision Board 1 - Teddy Bear Nursery Theme

For the first time I had a tough decision to make in eliminating all the pieces that I wanted to put into the room.

Usually I would start by pointing out the big ticket items, but hey, did you see those curtain tie-backs? Are they adorable, or what? I would create a bear nursery theme just so I could use these in a room!

Phew. I couldn't wait to get that out. Okay. Now I'm good to go with the rest.

Keeping the colors in neutrals of black , white and grey with pops of rustic wood gives the nursery a calm and serene feel and doesn't overwhelm the room.

Vision Board 2 - Winnie the Pooh Bedroom

If you were to ask me my favorite children's book characters of all time, Winnie the Pooh and friends would win it hands down. I love the stories, I love how each character is defined, all different but equally wonderful; and I absolutely LOVE Winnie the Pooh quotes.

If I could I would create an entire wall filled with his quotes alone (and perhaps another one with Dr. Seuss's quotes - but that's another day another theme).

Can you see yourself sitting on bed with your young toddler, covered with a Pooh duvet, reading her a Pooh book while she cuddles in thumb-in-mouth?

To digress a little, I can't stress enough the importance of a cuddle-in book-read with your children. When my kids were little (the teen years are another story), we would cuddle in as I read to them. It was my favorite time of the day.

Add a Pooh and Friends Wallpaper behind the bed. You have the option of going monochrome or all out bright and cheerful in the room.

There are many Winnie the Pooh figurines online and you might want to add to your collection over the years. The frame art is a more elegant presentation of the famous Winnie the Pooh quotes and such a marvelous piece of advice for young ones.

Carry the pooh bear nursery theme into the bathroom with Eeyore helping keep the shower curtain in place or Pooh peeking through the pop-up hamper. You can find many bath toys, towels and other accessories to complete the theme.

There are many ways to create a theme and it all comes down to your budget. As long as you know how far you can stretch your dollar, you will be able to come up with something totally unique, totally you.

  • Create a patchwork wall - there are many patchwork wallpapers available. Find one in the your chosen colors. If you don't find any you like, you can consider creating your own patchwork wall, but be ready for a lot of measuring and re-measuring.
  • Create a silhouette of a bear and paint around the room. For a more fun project, use washi tape to create different looks (different clothes, add spectacles to one, tutu to another). Have fun with this one.
  • Visit Etsy for some great picks, if you don't have the time or interest to create your own. Some may even personalize the items for you.
  • Find bear knobs and paint silhouette of bear feet on the dresser, changing table or closet.
  • Add a large Winnie the Pooh mural to one wall and sit back and watch the kids and their friends create hours of pretend play in the fascinating 'Hundred acre Woods'.
  • Buy a Goldilocks playset. That is another fun twist to the teddy bear nursery theme.
